Family Fun · Indoor Play Zone · UP Waterfalls

Spend the morning hiking to waterfalls, the afternoon on the ORV trails of the Northwoods, and the evening with your entire crew around a fire while the kids have disappeared into a three-room indoor play zone. Powderhorn Hideaway is a 4-bedroom UP Michigan retreat built for groups who want adventure over screens — a Jura pulling espresso, Northern Lights on clear nights, and more to do inside than outside.

Good to know

This house runs on fun — THE KITCHEN & LIVING: Exposed vertical log walls from the original 1800s homestead anchor a kitchen no new construction can replicate. Concrete countertops, blue cabinetry, stainless appliances, long prep counter — built for groups. A pellet stove, timber beams, and a carved wooden archway connect everything from old to new. THE COFFEE BAR: Dedicated espresso/ beverage bar with a Jura machine stocked for the stay, wine fridge, and so much character. Morning coffee before the trailhead hits differently. The kids get two entire levels to disappear into: UPSTAIRS — a hidden passage leads to: Planetarium — hand-painted star ceiling mural, working constellation projector Game loft — Catan, Monopoly, Scrabble, and more THE PLAY ZONE (basement): Climbing wall, monkey bars, a slide, hammock netting, and the ultimate fort-building space — complete with 12 Figgy mattresses for when the kids refuse to go to bed anywhere else. THE BEDROOMS (4 total, sleeps 12–16): Primary suite — king bed, TV, blackout curtains, floor-length mirror Second king suite — king bed, TV, blackout curtains, floor-length mirror Double bedroom — two double beds, great light (sleeps 4) Basement kids zone — 12 single Figgy mattresses tucked into the fort-building play level THE BATHROOMS: 1st floor bath with stone tile, walk-in shower, and burnt wood details. Spacious second bath with agate tile, round mirror, and gold sconces. OUTSIDE: BBQ grill, fire pit, and a pickleball court on the way — the base is in and just waiting on blacktop. You may notice the court footprint in the yard. Washer/dryer. Starlink WiFi. Smart TVs with streaming throughout. Pack 'n Play available. Pets welcome ($50/pet per stay). Danielle and Steve live right here in the neighborhood — you'll have our direct number for anything that comes up during your stay.

We had an awesome stay at Steve and Danielle's property! They were very responsive and accomodating to any questions we had. The house is fully updated, well furnished/designed, and was a good size for our extended family get together of 5 adults and 8 kids (all under the age of 8). The kids absolutely loved the basement sensory/play room and will always remember sleeping under the nugget tents we made for them. We traveled end of May and enjoyed hiking and waterfalls only 15 minutes away. Great location and stay!
